Although my tummy is still rumbling, I managed to eat a little sea bass and rice on the flight to Jakarta, where I have safely arrived. I will have something light to eat at the hotel and go to bed early. Hopefully I will be better tomorrow, as I have a busy day including a presentation to 20 people who probably won’t appreciate my running off to the toilet every five minutes.
It’s Ramadan here in this Muslim country and I landed at 6pm which is just after sunset. This is the time when everyone is breaking their fasts, so instead of it taking the usual 90 minutes in terrible traffic to get from Jakarta’s international Soekarno-Hatta airport to the Mandarin Hotel, it took less than half an hour. Thanks to Allah.
